Informal art classes for beginners & intermediate oil painters

 

About the Classes 

Join Kirsten in her Denmark studio for Sunday morning oil painting  sessions. Work at your own pace with guidance and support when you need it. Kirsten will be available to assist you one-on-one with aspects of planning your painting, achieving effects, composition, colour mixing, mediums, brushes, paint layering and glazing techniques. Sign up for a series of 4 x 2 hour sessions for $100 or attend occasional classes for $35 per session. BYO materials and painting easel or purchase supplies and hire an easel at the studio.  Classes are suitable for students over 16 years of age. 

Please note: For the health and well-being of others, use of turpentine and other solvents as brush cleaners and painting mediums are discouraged. As a non-toxic alternative, Kirsten uses walnut oil and Turpenoid Natural.  These materials can be purchased in small quantities at the studio or you are welcome to bring your own non-toxic supplies.

What to bring

Brushes, oil paints, acrylic paints for underpainting (not essential), mediums and non-toxic brush cleaner, a work in progress or a prepared canvas or board to start working on, a sketch pad/visual diary and an easel (easels may be hired at the studio for $5 a session).

When 

Starting on Sunday 19th February 2017. Sessions are for 2 hours and will be held weekly on most Sunday mornings from 10-12pm. Sundays when there are not classes scheduled are marked  ‘red’ in the calendar below.
